Some clarification on a setting please
Hi.
I was playing with the speed of effects on faces and was trying to find how exactly the Phase Offset functions.
I can see it has an effect on a second face, duplicated from an original, that has a single line. If the phase offset is adjusted it changes the relationship between the two faces. In tests I can see no way to get more than two faces, new, or duplicated, to assume the same phasing. If it is possible I cannot find how to achieve this or what I want to actually have is each offset by an incremental amount.
Also I was to understand that effects are group wide, so how is what I have done possible, or am I working under some misunderstanding.
Regards.

Hi,
I think that what's not helping you here is that there is a bug in recent releases. (Whose fix is actually due to be included in next week's 2.10.2 release.)
You're right, the Phase offset is group wide and you could say it is used to "shift the starting point for the variation of the effect between each face of the group". At 0 all the faces in the group should be in phase.
Unfortunately the issue in recent releases is that faces added to the group after activation of the effect don't assume the correct phase (which is why you get out-of-phase faces even though your parameter is at 0).
Sorry for the inconvenience and confusion, as mentioned at the beginning of this message, this issue has been spotted and fixed for the next patch release. In the meantime, what you can be sure off, is that at project reload everything will be correct. And during creation, if you want to make sure you see the correct rendering, you can toggle the effect on/off after adding faces or hit the "Resync" button in the Tempo module.
Have a nice day.

Thanks for this clarification and it's good to know that you have it as identified and a fix on route.
I'll try the workaround and see if that solves my issues. Look forward to the new update.
Best regards.
