Multiple Projectors - How to Hook Up / What Hardware?

Brother it's not that difficult, I have been where you are.... so, my advice would be to keep a hands-on approach.... too much research and thinking would only confuse you.

first get the number of projectors required for the project.

See the type of input ports aval.

then look for all the ouput aval on you system.

HDMI Splitters can be used to duplicate an output....So you can cover areas which can have same output running on it connected with it.

Type C to HDMI converters can be used for extending displays, ones with multiple ports are also available....

USB type 3 to HDMI are also available......

what you would need will depend on your system and projectors aval. Projectors have LAN and Wifi connectivity as well. Don't be discouraged by the Spec sheet of a particular projector they support a number of resolutions when you connect them on ground. And the results are better judged on ground as well.

Don't worry about the resolution, delays or graphics cards etc at this point....

When you have all the things connected than start trouble shouting. one or another converter may fail you but another one from a different company/brand may work etc

Now setup the output on Heavy M, calculate the total resolution of the projectors. And see the results if they are acceptable then move on.....

So now i will tell you what I had and how i connected them.

I have a Legion 5 with ryzen 7 & 350ti laptop, 1 HDMI port. I had to connect 3 projectors. 2 where of EPSON EB972 and one of panasonic (that had a bit better resolution). I connected one with the HDMI and one over the LAN (Epson has a handy software that lets you connect the projector after setting the IPs, It came very handy). The last projector was connected with a cheap Chinese no brand type C to HDMI converter (Type C Hub adapter from Baseaus failed). I had a building to cover I have shared its video at "Help me improve" my discussion. Then I setup the resolution to 1920 x 1080 at Win display setup for all the projectors it worked for all the projectors despite their native resolution being lower. We also had to move the projectors very far to cover the building, but the results were reasonable. Then I started mapping......

    Hi all,

First of all, thanks Nawab201 for your detailed input!

I just thought I'd provide a few additional links that could help:

But yes, our common usage here is to get hardware with the resources and the number of possible outputs that corresponds to our project. You can mix different types of connection (HDMI, DisplayPort, etc) it doesn't matter to HeavyM. (If you use adapters, make sure they don't limit the output resolution of your projector though!)

That might be a lot of info all at once, hope that can help! Have a nice day.
