A new kind of Player that keep the original aspect ratio of the source
Hi!
So, by now we have these three options for players: 1:1, 16:9, and 4:3. And the abilty to add a source directly from the finder/explorer to canvas keeping the original aspect ratio but...
I would love to have an extra one (probably with a square 1:1 base) that keeps the original aspect ratio of the source. So for example if you add a 16:9 video to it it gets letterboxed or if the source video is 1:1 it fits in full, or if its a 9:16 it gets pillarboxed. So if we for example make a playlist with different files with different aspect ratio sources, the result gonna still look good. Or even without the playlist situation, we change the source of this player from one file to another with different aspect ratio it still looks cool.
Maybe it can have a checkbox for "scale to frame" or "crop to frame".
Does this have some sense to anyone?
Thanks a lot
Best wishes

Hi Alejandro,
Thanks for the suggestion. It does make sense, we actually thought about this when we implemented the slice selector and different player ratios. However, the solutions we had in mind where technically difficult or we believed they would make the software more complex or were not suitable for all use cases at the time.
But we'll definitely keep that in mind, thanks for your input.
Have a nice day!

Can we please get an aspect ratio (h and w px or %) for video sources? The drag and drop into the player is not very practical. Would love to stop distorting our theatre projections.
