Mac M1 build

  • Official comment

    Hi everyone,

We've just released version 2.4.1 and can announce that it is compatible with M1 chips (running under the Rosetta translation layer for now).

    Hope you enjoy it!

    Hello John, Hello Wondir1,

    Thanks for reaching us!

We have made good progress on the compatibility of HeavyM 2 on the Macbook M1. I can't give you an exact release date yet, but the software should be compatible with M1 chips within a month!

In the meantime, you can still use HeavyM 1 via Rosetta on your Mac M1. To download this version, just go to your license manager with your license key. At the bottom of the page you will find a button to download HeavyM 1.

    Hope this helps!

    Have a great day,

    Hello !
I'm about to buy a new MacBook Pro M1max.
Will HeavyM be available in M1 native mode (not rosetta) ?

  • Léa

    Hi Marcel,

It's our plan to have a native build yes, but it is still in discussion, as we're facing portability issues for M1 chips.

However, even if it will be running under the Rosetta translation layer, the next release will be fully compatible with M1.

Hope that helps. Have a nice day!

    Thanks !!!

Good to hear that the Apple chip support for HeavyM is still on the cards. Soon the M1 pro/Max will be here and my MacBook is due for an upgrade. My Mac mini is already running M1 and I get warning that graphics is not supported on 2.4.0

is the port coming in the future or is it stopped?

  • Léa

Unfortunately a native build is not planned at the moment. Sorry for the inconvenience.

    Have a nice day.
