Media Player various set shapes (not just rectangle default shape)

This would save so much time and reconfiguring the player to meet the original media's ratio.
currently every media gets squashed out into the rectangle 16:9 (?) shape.
I often have 1:1 squares.
Not life or death, but it would improve workflow for me
Quick command: shift+up arrow to change different ratios/shapes ??

Hi,
We've improved this a bit in v2.8, here are the improvements:
- Added different default aspect ratios for player shapes (1:1, 4:3, 16:9)
- When drag & dropping a media file directly in the Canvas, the newly created player takes the media’s aspect ratio (or the first media in the case of a Playlist)

Yes, as I've said to Alejandro, we're looking into some tools for this at the moment (crop tool, coordinates, etc). We'll see how we can integrate your suggestions into it. Thanks for the ideas!
(And yes, it's a 16:9 ratio by default indeed)

A workaround for now to get a perfectly 1:1 player can be to magnet it to a square shape (I know I know it's very much not user-friendly).
