Outputs (OSC / Midi)
Hi.
I was wondering with the control capabilities of the sequencer and timeline if you had any plans to implement any OSC or Midi output that could drive other devices or applications that can be inputs to HM. The input is catered for by NDI,Spout etc but the ability to effect these is not there, so a reliance on timing is required, so synching effects etc is not possible.
Best regards.

Hi mrcidavies,
This is definitely somethiing we want to do! The new sequencer was actually designed with this idea in mind for later.
The integration is not planned at the moment though, but we're currently still working on our 2024 roadmap. So yes, in short we'd like to add more actions to cues (internal or external orders) but it might not be the priority for 2.13.
Have a nice day!

Lea,
Thank you for this, I do hope we get to see this soon, along with some other requested features that are now getting quite old. e.g. https://help.heavym.net/hc/en-us/community/posts/360009807360
Regards.

Very much hope this gets implemented. The sequencer in HeavyM is miles above the functionality in some other suites, and I'd love to make HeavyM drive the other programs to switch their input, on a scene change for example, and have their output consumed and projection mapped by HeavyM. Can't do that today.
Please add this functionality asap!

Hi Eric,
Thanks for the feedback on this! It's taken into consideration, we're going to discuss it.
Have a nice day!

Thanks for taking this into consideration. Until this works I think I'm stuck doing something using OSC between programs, which isn't optimal and won't do what I need it to regarding the sequencer. I'll have to instead time things in the other programs off of the start and at some point things could get out of sync.
Yes, please and thank you!

Hey all,
I'm coming back on this thread to share a sync trick that I think you'd find interesting. Please see my post on this thread.
Hope that can help people here.
Have a nice day!
