Hypnotic only works with fixed colors? (LFO driven color does not work)

I only just now noticed that when special group effect Hypnotic is activated, the color of the effect is fixed, even when color is set to be controlled by an LFO. Basically it is not possible to have Hypnotic colors work with the LFOs. Every other Special group effect works with LFO driven color, but not Hypnotic. Is this the expected behavior? 

My HeavyM version is 2.13.7
