There are three different projection options in HeavyM, depending on if you simply want a preview window (Windowed), a simple Fullscreen projection (Fullscreen), or a more advanced configuration (Setup).
The latter can be configured from the Output Setup module (accessed via or Output → Setup...)
Overview of the Output Setup window
Let's go through a a quick overview of the window to give you an idea of all the available features:
- The Canvas Settings section, where you can setup the resolution of the canvas and choose to display the Test Card in the output to help you in the calibration steps. To better understand the canvas resolution, please follow this article.
- The Screens setup area. This is where you'll setup how many output screens you want and which area you want them to display by placing them precisely on the canvas. This is also where you'll be able to adjust the deformation points from the Warping module (see n°4). You can navigate this area with a mousewheel click or [Space]+Drag and zoom with a mousewheel scroll or the buttons on the bottom right. See this article to setup multiple screens.
- The Screen settings section. In this section, you'll be able to adjust the settings of a selected screen:
- Name: a name identifying the screen ;
-
Blackout/Solo buttons (2.13.2): these buttons allow you to turn screens ON or OFF. By default, a screen is turned on, but it's possible to switch it to Blackout by clicking on
. In this case, the output associated to this screen is still open on its Destination, but no rendering is displayed (black screen). The Solo button
, while checked, allows to force the selected screen ON and all other screens OFF (overriding Blackout buttons temporarily) ;
- Destination: which display to send the rendering to. The Destination can be a regular display selected from the list of available displays, or a virtual one (via an NDI stream) ;
- Position in pixels, relative to the canvas top left origin ;
- Color: the color is only used to help identify the Screen in the setup area, it doesn't impact the output rendering ;
- Orientation: 0/90/180/270°.
- The Warping section. It contains the settings relative to the distortion of a selected screen. The Warping is used to adjust the corners or create small deformations on the output rendering. It is described in a separate article.
- The Edge Blending section. It contains the settings relative to the blending of a selected screen. Edge blending is used to blend screens together in order to create a bigger one seamlessly. It is described in a separate article.
Configuring a projection in the Output Setup
Whether you want to set up a single projection with a custom resolution, multiple displays with edge-blending, or warp the output, all output transformations configured via the Output Setup module is detailed in the articles of the corresponding section: Canvas & Output Setup.
