The top part of the HeavyM interface contains the menu bar and the top toolbar. That's where you'll find most of the features that will help you create and manage the settings of your mapping.
The Tools
The main toolbar gives you a quick access to important HeavyM tools that you might need to use a lot. The tools are organized as follows:
- Output setup: opens the Output Setup window, that you'll use to configure and launch an advanced projection. Learn more in "Configuring an advanced projection setup with multiple displays".
- Shape drawing tools: use, , or to drag & drop quickly a predefined shape in your work area (respectively a circle, a triangle, a square or a player). Or click the little green arrow to choose the Draw or Edit tool (to, well, respectively draw or edit shapes). Learn more in "Creating Shapes".
- Creative tools: enables/disables the Magnet Snap, which helps you snap points together automatically when you move them close. enables/disables the option "Show All Centers", which makes Center points visible all the time. enables/disables the Cursor tool, which displays a crosshair in the output to pinpoint the location of your pointer in the canvas.
- Controls: opens the Controls settings window, that lets you configure external controls for HeavyM. Learn more in "Controlling HeavyM remotely".
The Menus
The menu bar is situated at the top of your screen, below the title bar. It contains drop-down menus organized in categories, where you’ll find the majority of the software’s essential functions, such as opening and saving projects, global preferences or tools for example. Some features are even only accessible from these menus, like Help resources links or the canvas background options "Show Preview" and "Show Image".
